November 9, 2017, – Facebook Founder & CEO Mark Zuckerberg hosted a small roundtable at Cortex Innovation Community on Thursday. The meeting gave Mr. Zuckerberg the opportunity to listen and learn from entrepreneurs to better understand the needs and challenges encountered by small business owners in the St. Louis Region. Attending on behalf of Cortex were DataDog Health – Ravi Chacko, Epharmix – Blake Marggraff, Geneoscopy – Erica Barnell. Other local businesses included: Refab – Eric Schwarz, EyeSeeMe – Nick Thomas, La Patisserie Chouquette – Simone Faure, Rescued Furnishings – Nicole Dawn, St. Louis Regional Art Commission – Felicia Shaw and Claim Academy – Ola Ayeni.
Following the meeting, Zuckerberg posted to his Facebook profile, “We’re going to bring Facebook Community Boost to 30 US cities in 2018 — including St. Louis; Albuquerque; Des Moines; Greenville, South Carolina and Houston. And we’ll work with local organizations to make sure we’re meeting the specific needs of the communities we invest in.”
