The BJC WellAware Center, located in the new 4220 building, is now open for business. At over 17,000 square feet, it includes a spacious area for cardiovascular training and stretching and a more intimate strength area with free weights and a 60-yard-long track. Amenities at the BJC WellAware Center are plentiful – in addition to the workout areas, there are also assessment rooms, massage rooms, two group exercise studios, a SpinningTM studio, and state-of-the-art locker rooms. As an added convenience, members will find a well-stocked pro-shop with all of your pre- and post- workout foods and drinks.
The team, headed by the experienced Aaron Gutjahr, includes certified exercise specialists, plus group exercise instructors, exercise physiologists, competitive powerlifters like Kyle Bauer and Jessica Varner, as well as collegiate Olympic lifter Sarah Dalton. These employees and others will be on hand to give personal attention to gym members, enhancing their exercise capabilities. After Labor Day, group exercise classes will begin and will include everything from spin classes to yoga to Zumba and H.I.I.T. classes.
Aaron Gutjahr, Manager and Exercise Physiologist, says “Our new space allows us to expand our offerings, quickly develop new programs according to the newest trends in fitness, as well as continue our mission of providing the world’s best preventative medicine.”
The BJC WellAware Center contains the latest in exercise machines in the cardio area, featuring state-of-the-art elliptical trainers, treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes, and rowing machines. Many of the machines are app-enabled; members can track their progress and repeat their favorite routines through the LFconnect App. In the strength area, there is a plethora of free weights and plenty of mirrors to check your form.
